  • After you’ve signed up, your salon or spa will begin separating and collecting beauty waste in bins lined with clear trash bags. We’ll send you more information to help you get started.
  • When a bin is full, tie a knot in the bag and place it in the shipping box we provide.
  • When your shipping box is full, you simply schedule a pick-up and print off a shipping label in our web portal.
  • You can order new shipping boxes in the web portal so you can keep collecting beauty waste.
  • After the beauty waste leaves your salon or spa, we will take care of the rest. Our Green Guarantee means the beauty waste collected will be recycled or repurposed, rather than end up in a landfill or waterway.

Your salon or spa will need to have access to a printer and a supply of clear trash bags to line your recycling bins. Depending on the program you signed up for, you may also need to provide recycling bins. We’ll send you a special bag to collect excess hair color.

To get started, you pay a one-time enrollment fee based on your salon’s size and needs. To learn more, visit How It Works.

To cover the ongoing costs of the program, we encourage you to set up an Environmental Stewardship Fee (ESF). The ESF is a small fee (usually $1-2 per guest per visit) that you can build into your salon prices. The revenue you generate through the ESF will cover ongoing program costs, plus can be used to support other sustainability efforts in your salon, like switching to LED lights or installing water saving fixtures. To learn more, visit How It Works.

Our experience is that most guests are happy to pay a small Environmental Stewardship Fee (ESF) to know their beauty waste is being handled responsibly. In fact, there are many guests who want to support sustainable salons. A recent study showed that 84% of salon guests think it’s important that salons do their part to reduce their environmental impact. We encourage you to share with your guests how they’re contributing to environmental change and sustainability.

When you first signed up for your program, you were given access to our web portal called the Hairmail Hub. Ordering more boxes on the Hairmail Hub is simple and easy. Please go to Login to get started. If you misplaced your login information, email us at info@greencirclesalons.com to have it reset.
