New Recycling Program Helps Salons Reduce Waste and Go Green
SalonCentric™ and Green Circle Salons have partnered to provide licensed beauty professionals access to sustainable beauty solutions.
Through the SalonCentric™ and Green Circle partnership, salons and stylists can recycle salon waste, including hair clippings, excess color, foil, paper and plastics. Green Circle supports this effort by developing new technology and collaborating with over 40 U.S. companies, including recycling facilities, research institutions and clean energy producers.
“This partnership is part of SalonCentric’s commitment to support salon/suite owners and stylists who want to embrace more sustainable business practices,” says Gina Meggo, President of SalonCentric™.
When subscribing to the Green Circle program, each salon/suite is provided with in-salon receptacles that, once full, are shipped to Green Circle, where the salon waste gets a second life. For example, manufacturers can use hair to create bio-composite plastics like recycling bins or combs or compost them with other organic waste.
